INTRODUCTION

The International Buddhist Society (IBS) was founded by Ven. Maitri Mahasthavir in Lumbini on September 2, 1993 as a non-profit organization with the goal of providing free health and medical services to the poor people and illiterate local communities in the surrounding area.

The organization has grown since its founding and now operates several clinics in the Lumbini area, providing medical care to thousands of patients each year. In addition to healthcare, the IBS also provides education and vocational training to help local communities become more self-sufficient and improve their standard of living.
